I'm having trouble installing 8.04 on a Dell 1150. The installation normally hangs. While it was working I checked the disk space - it should have been 30Gb - and it only showed 16Gb.
During the attempted installation the text appears:
Buffer I/O error on device sda1
Am I right in assuming that the HD may indeed be faulty or approaching the end of its life?
