Fellow Ubuntu users,

in the last four weeks, I've created an open-source tips, tricks and howto site that works like a social bookmarking/social networking site. You can submit your tricks/tips/howtos directly or link to your website/blog/forum post or whatever. Of course the tricks are taggable, so it is easy to find what you are looking for. There is a nice little feature: if you paste an error message, it tries to find a matching trick/solution. After a while, it should have enough solutions in the database that it shouldn't be necessary to use Google. Here is one example: http://howflow.com/pastes/52.

The site is non-profit/non-commercial (do not submit commercial stuff) and is looking for beta testers. If you want to try it out, just send an email to flow 'at' howflow.com. Here is the link to the site: http://howflow.com/.

Hope to see you!

Andreas

Oh, this site looks useful!
I'll be checking it out. Thanks for the great work.

Thanks! Nice to hear that. It was a lot of work, because it isn't just another forum, but developed from scratch in about 6 weeks (with Ruby on Rails, btw.). I really hope it is getting more and more useful over time. There are a lot more features planned.

Thanks again!

If you want to try it out, just send an email to flow 'at' howflow.com. Here is the link to the site: http://howflow.com/.

Just to let you know: HowFlow is now open to the public and you no longer need an invitation to join. If you have any questions, there is also an IRC channel on freenode.net: #howflow
