Is there any way to find out what updates have been installed in the last week and then if so, to roll them back to the previous file versions?

I normally install updates as they come available. After sometime last week, my computer started freezing up and I would imagine this started after installing some updates, just not sure which one or ones may have caused it.

Running 8.04

Is there anyway to narrow this down and reverse things? The lock-ups are frequent and the only way to get things "moving" again is to cut off the power and restart.

Open Synaptic Package Manager, under Menu > File > History

Thanks, hopefully I can figure out what caused this and revert back to the previous version.

One more question, how do I revert back to the old files? Is this possible?

Sorry to have so many questions, but if I took a screenshot of the syslog, would anyone be able to tell me what is causing the lockup by viewing the output of the logfile? Where would I upload the image file to?
