How to get a mac-like dock for my most used applications?

Can anyone help me with this? I am new to Linux and ubuntu so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Avant Window Navigator or briefly AWN (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=762363&highlight=avant+window+navigator).
Another nice dock is called Cairo (http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/05/01/how-to-install-cairo-dock/) and finally you might want to do a search on Kiba dock (use the forum's search function and see if you can find it ;) ).

Its called Engage.

Dream Linux has it by default, I don't find it that useful myself. novelty wore off within 3 swipes of my mouse.
