Hi, I was wondering if there is any way or any link that you know, that I can use to install ubuntu on a USB pendrive (with persistance) but at the same time using a partition to be able to access from windows.

As far as I know, windows cannot read the USB stick if the primary partition of it is not FAT formatted, and since it has to be the first partition, would it be bootable using linux on it?

Thanks in advance

I haven't seen anything like this for Ubuntu, however it's easily doable for DSL (http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/), Puppy (http://www.puppylinux.org/) and even Knoppix (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/01/01/usb-knoppix-510/), if you prefer larger distros

Just wanted to mention this in case you don't know

Why nobody does that with ubuntu? Haven't you had the need to use your usb pendrive on a public computer with windows? By having only EXT partitions on it, would be totally unusable for windows.
