Just wondering if it is possible to download Splashtop somewhere and install it on a harddrive?
I know the source code is availble http://www.splashtop.com/blog/

If not, does anyone know any super-ultra-mega slim Linux version that can do the same (Puppy/DSL/...)

If you install it on your hard drive, you won't get the speeds that splashtop gets because splashtop is installed on the chip in Asus's bios. If you want something like that, I would recommend a minimal install of Ubuntu or an install of Arch, and then install some minimal window manager.

i wouldn't bother, splashtop sucks. It doesn't have wireless drivers, or a way to install anything else. id rather just put my computer into suspend, or wait 10 more seconds to have a real OS boot up.

XPud is a fabulous small alternative.

And you can install it Dual Boot with Windows.

I am using Sony vaio e-series laptop. I formatted all my drives and removed the preinstalled windows-7 and installed Ubuntu 10.10. Now when I press the Quick web access key I get a message "splashtop is not currently installed". Can someone tell me how to get the Quick web access feature back on linux.
