Hi there again folks

I installed a newer version of Firefox using Synaptic and now my Firefox doesn't want to auto fill in the passwords anymore. I use that feature, esp on some sites where you need to use it fairly regularly. Specifically Gaiaonline.com I've checked my setting and it shows that it is set to remember passwords for all sites. Any ideas, suggestions or help will as alwys be greatly appreciated.

After upgrading to Firefox 3.0.1, for some reason my ~/.mozilla/firefox/default/signons3.txt file was root protected. If that is the case for you, you might try un-protecting that file or deleting it.

For the second time I am having the same problem. The first time I do not remember what caused it. I reinstalled to fix it. This time I deleted and reinstalled some graphics drivers and suddenly Firefox is not automatically signing in to web sites such as www.ubuntuforums.org.

"~/.mozilla/firefox/default/signons3.txt" appears to be intact but Firefox apparently is not being told to go look at it.

What is the process that controls this?
