[SOLVED] Lost panel and menu

Xubuntu Gutsy. I somehow managed to overload my computer and freeze everything and had to do a hard reset. When it restarted, I had to do a manual fsck. Now the panel at the bottom of the screen with the menus and icons and stuff has disappeared. Restarting the computer doesn't help. The desktop still displays fine and I can start programs through the terminal.

Any ideas how to fix this?

You should also be able to get your menus by right clicking the desktop.
You could check your setting from that menu to see if the panel is hidden and/or create a new panel if it's actually gone.
