Hi guys, have acquired a new old PC to play with. The CD player seems buggered! I was able to run PuppyLinux from a flash drive and installed it to the hard disk that way. Superb! It runs like a train. So now I want to install the latest ubuntu. I downloaded the latest iso onto my good machine, burnt the image to a cd and then copied the files to another flashdrive. Needless to say and against all hope when i came to boot the new (old) machine up from the USB it wouldn't have it. I have been using ubuntu since 2005 and really love it and as my new old machine easily out performs my ancient old machine I would like to get it working on there. Puppy is very impressive and very fast but it ain't no ubuntu, so please how would you suggest getting it loaded without a CD player?

thanks... Simon
