Installed xubuntu-desktop through Synaptic... how can I get rid of it??

Simple thread, as per the title. Synaptic installs a boatload of packages, I want them all gone, every guide seems to be outdated and apt-get won't do anything if you put in a single name of a package it can't find.

EDIT: sorry, I'm exhausted and posted this in the wrong forum, now I can't find the delete function. My bad.
