2008 Digicam Recommendations? (criteria inside)

Ladies and gents, I am looking to replace my old 3.2mp Casio Exilim digital camera.

I have the following criteria I am looking for:

1. Accept SD cards
2. Be able to save in RAW preferably (TIFF would be okay as a 2nd choice)
3. Cost under €400 (not sure how realistic this is)
4. The less digital zoom it has the better, I have no use for digital zoom.
5. Megapixels: maximum possible at this price would be nice.

Any recommendations?

I'm not sure, but maybe Canon G9 meets those terms.

But what about optical zoom. Do you want an ultrazoom like Fuji s100fs or something small?


5. Megapixels: maximum possible at this price would be nice.

More magapixels = more noise. In compact cameras less megapixels is better.


Any recommendations?

Consider DSLR (maybe Olympus e-420 with kit or small pancake lens) - more money but much better quality.
