I've stopped using my computer for about 3/4 months now. About a week ago I decided to install the Breezy Badger and today I'm trying to get my old configuration back by using the Ubuntu Guide, among other things. I'm deeply puzzled. I can't do anything. When installing codecs I'm getting error messages and it's a mess!

Will the Ubuntu Guide (www.ubuntuguide.org) ever be updated? Because as it is, I can't do crap.

It's not broken--it's just outdated.
Some codecs have been taken out of the repositories.
Some repositories have changed.

Okay, let me state it in another way: will the Ubuntu Guide ever be updated?

I believe the author of the guide has plans on updating it, but it may be a few more weeks before he gets it done. I would suggest using arnieboy's Automatix script to help you get things up and running for Breezy. It worked well for me. w32codecs will have to be installed independently. I used the Unofficial Ubuntu Guide CD to get a copy of the codecs. They can also be obtained from the Mplayer website.

You can find Automatix here:
