This is a problem that just cropped up -- today.
I get to the login screen, and after entering in my password, it begins to log me in. Then, the tan screen freezes, and a gray box in the upper right corner (blank) shows up. I dropped out to a terminal and checked the error logs, and the only thing that showed up was in ~/.xsession-errors.
