View Full Version : [ubuntu] What's the difference between Ubuntu 7.10 and 8.04

All ive found is that they are updated. For example with every new windows release theres a new ui new software speedup (sometimes) or with every mac os release new ui new software updates speedup new computers stuff like that. All ive found with hardy is that it has a new wallpaper and the bootup logo is way smaller resolution compared to gutsy

Well,it is not that simple.I found very useful ufw (uncomplicated firewall)as new application in Ubuntu.

there are loads of new things in hardy, alot of new hardware drivers are avalible. Also ......

Device names of IDE harddrives are different. Previously it was /dev/hda etc.. Now it has been /dev/sda, as though you would have SATA drive. This due to kernels after 2.6.20. There are tons of other differences. GNOME crashes less by me.
