I searched the forums and couldn't find anything like what I have.

I downloaded the new release and burned the image to a disk, then during installation (after entering all the info and partitioning the drive) it gave me an error, something about the disk possibly being damaged or dirty. Then I re downloaded the iso, burned to another disk and I got the same error. Then I tried it all over again, so what could possibly be the problem?

The only thing I can think to do is to install with my ubuntu disk that was mailed to me last year and upgrade.

Any help would be appreciated.

Follow this guide:

Do md5sum, burn at 4x or less on CD-R. Clean the lens in your burner, just in case.
