Ive found Acetone ISO2 as a great replacement for Deamon Tools. I was just wondering why it isnt in the repositories. Its a useful program.

Find it here:

There's Gmount-iso which is in the the repositories. It works nicely.

sudo apt-get install gmountiso

gmountiso only mounts iso files and requires root password.AcetoneISO2 mounts all images iso mdf img nrg bin and does NOT require root password, converts all known images to iso and does plenty of other things. comparing gmountiso to AcetoneISO2 is quite silly.

here is a complete feature list:

Yeah I just discovered it on getdeb.net: http://www.getdeb.net/category.php?id=11

Quite useful. Someone tell a MOTU member about it :KS

Thirded. Should be on repos.

(And it doesn't require root permissions because you addgroup yourself to fuse etc)

Acetone ISO2 is a sweet program. I've already tried to spread awareness of it's existence.

AcetoneISo is 10x better than gmount

The way to do that is to file a needs-packaging bug (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages#head-3e14a980f129a7e1f22dddcababc80d0c683d990). For the software in question, there's already one (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/105873); you may want to subscribe to it.

I find CDemu to be far more useful. http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/
