Now that we have a new folding thread started ... :)
I read on Standford's site that they just loaded more work into one of their "regular" servers (IE: non-GPU/SMP/Etc).
Anyone know how long the whole Folding thing will last?

Lets see a rought estimate would be:
30 000 genes in the human genome
Many genes codes for more than one proteins through alternative splicing.
Folding is influenced by post-translational modification.
And if I'm not mistaken, folding at home also look at the effects of mutations on protein structure.
So the short answer would probably a long time.
Or I better change my carrer plan :lolflag:
