help with cd install /trial

hi
i have d/loaded file burnt &checked used in built check also
but when i load try without change option on windows xp pro install the orange bar bounces then goes solid &seems to stall about 3/4 way along the solid bar
i don`t know whether it`s frozen or resting during install how long should i wait if it is in fact resting ??????
is it possible to watch a text install to see what the problem is rather than the orange bar??
any ideas thanks lyle

For text install, you have to use another cd.

What are your PC specs? CPU, RAM, graphics?

Video card Nvidia geforce 6500

Well, your specs are not the problem. I suggest looking around or asking in Wubi section.

to update position
i ended up d/loading the alternate CD & at last i have a dual boot that works to a point .
i get the OS selection screenwith about 4 options can boot to XP but when i start UBUNTU i get the splash screen with the orange bar that stop about 3/4 `s across the screen &freezes
what do i need to fix to get my install to finish loading ????

if i let the boot selection boot to recovery mode i get a menu
"boot to normal mode"
boot to root shell prompt which is root@ubuntubrutus :/# cursor
ifix fix x server
boot to normal mode srarts loading ACPImodule =OK
starting ACPI module =OK
cursor then stalls on next line
the prompt option seems to be the path to take ???but to what next to fix problem
frozen load @splash screen
