Lock keys applet

Ever since I've installed Hardy, lock-keys-applet doesn't seem to work. When I turn Caps or Numlock, it doesn't led. Is this a known problem and is there a solution?

I could not get it to work on 9.04 Netbook Remix, too. Installed it, loaded it into the 'Startup Applications', nothing happens, also after reboot.
