Here's one: I' trying to install Ubuntu server on an old desktop. This has allready had Ubuntu 4, Gentoo and even XP installed on it (it's a test environment).

When installing Ubuntu server it hangs while 'finishing installation' (still in blue screen) during 'Setting the hardware clock'.

Does anyone recognize this ?

It's an old Compaq machine, pentium with 384 RAM. I know that Ubuntu 8.04 client ran smoothly.
I tried to install Fedora (net install) the other day which went wrong, so I decided to give 8.04 server a try. No luck.

In the mean time I've tried to reinstall Ubunte client again but no luck.

I'm afraid something went realy bad trying the fedora net inst. Can't realy remember where it halted...

Right now I'm running a memory test. But I don't realy know where I shouyld look at.

Wipe the drive clean and start from scratch.
