View Full Version : Auto recognize mouse & change speed settings

Does anybody know of a script (any language) that auto-detects whether a mouse is present and changes the pointer acceleration? Sometimes I use my mouse and other times I use the touchpad. But any time I use my mouse it is usually faster than that of the touchpad so I have to adjust the acceleration settings accordingly. It would be nice if there was a set speed for both.

Any thoughts?

Maybe is it possible to change the speed at the xorg.conf?

That would be awesome if that is true.

I would love to see a solution to this problem too! I use a few different external mice with my laptop and I it would be nice if I didn't have to reconfigure the sensitivity each time I switch.
