Does anyone know if the Ant in synaptic Package Manager, is the same as this one http://ant.apache.org/manual/install.html#jpackage the reason being, is that the environmental variables and bin paths are set, so I dont have to do it manually.

The latest ant (1.7) is in the repos. so you can simply install it by searching in Synaptic or from the command line
sudo apt-get install ant

I did that but I am assuming that since its a package i don't need to setup environmental variables, because they should already be set.

http://ant.apache.org/manual/install.html#buildingant
Do I still need to do this, and if so where is build.sh I cant find it in the ant directories I have looked through

This is the only thing I can find related to build, but I don't think It is what I need.
