In front of class beats it occurring at huge OS releases or on late night television shows where you're attempting to promote your product. =]

It's one thing to have that happen on your workstation, but I was at a lecture where the system running the lecturer's Power Point presentation kept blue screening. The lecturer handled it well, considering the system crashed like 3 times during the 2 hour lecture. :D

reminds me of a guy i knew who had a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop that Blue screened every 15 minutes (i told him a number of times that it was a RAM-induced failure, but he never bothered google the error message or to replace the RAM), and last i heard he installed Ubuntu on it (he moved to Spain, so i'm not sure if he got it working or not) but yeah, you're not the only one ;)

Btw, nice quality photo from a cell phone camera, what phone is it? :P

That best one was one year I was at COMDEX in Chicago for the Windows 98 introduction. I was attending the Bill Gates keynote and Windows 98 blue screened during the demo.

That video is still around on the net on youtube I think.

But, is this a testament to Windows being bad, or a testament to your IT folks at your school being bad? Ok, sure, Windows can be a huge pain if not fully patched, but that's the point I'm trying to make. Looks like the IT guys may not have been on top of things. And, yes, I'm playing Devil's Advocate.

My boss (a network manager) has the same PC that you were using, and his crashes a lot too. Good old Dell...

Too bad the picture is too fuzzy and we can't read the actual error message. I'm willing to place money on it being a hardware problem, not a software problem causes by Windows.

What model Optiplex is that Dell? My boss has a recent one that crashed constantly until I reinstalled drivers for his video card.

"the imprisoning feeling"

The Winston Churchill high school in Calgary actually *was* a prison.

Beat that...

One nice thing is that you can bring busted RAM back from the dead with the Linux Badram patch, assuming you can put in the time to put it through several hours or more of memtest.
