View Full Version : [ubuntu] Numeric keypad non-functional after upgrade

I don't think this is a retarded question, but I've been wrong before.

My numeric keypad has stopped functioning in GNOME after a distribution upgrade. During the upgrade process, I had to re-run the X configurator, which chooses keyboard layouts.

If I go to Preferences -> Keyboard in GNOME, my keyboard is chosen correctly, namely Microsoft Natural Internet Keyboard. Fiddling with numeric keypad settings seems to have no effect.

If I Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to a text login, then open emacs, the keypad works just fine (typing numbers.)

Yes, NUM LOCK is on. :)

I didn't realize how much I use it until it stopped working. It's cut my productivity by about 20%.

Any thoughts?

I've got the exact same problem....Did you ever come up with a solution to this?
