For some reason I cannon seem to hold of the file ia32-sun-java5-bin for Ubuntu Studio 8.04, I have my doubts that the AMD 64 would work in a 32 bit environment, but what if I used the package for 32 bit for an earlier version of ubuntu?

Any help is greatly appreciated :D

Are you trying to install the correct Java Run-Time Environment for your system, or is there a particular reason you want that AMD 64 package, or only the binary packages? Do you have a 32- or 64-bit system?

The current JRE package for Hardy is sun-java6-jre (http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/sun-java6-jre), for either 32- or 64-bit systems. If you install it using Synaptic, it will automatically get the correct binary files for your architecture.

I just realized there is a different file all together for the 32bit architecture's, but thats anyway :)
