I'd be happy if I could just play Thief: Deadly Shadows (http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/gss/thief_ds/) natively on Linux (info here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief:_Deadly_Shadows)); oh and maybe The Matrix, Path of Neo.

Yes. This and Halo 3, both of which I still haven't played at all, and only played the first two Halo games on a friend's Xbox.

Guys I want to play this MMP0RPG named TIBIA (www.tibia.com)
But it won't work even when there's a Linux Version :(
If someone ever installed it, please give me a hand, I'm a brand new user, not much computer experience.

OH but I do play Starcraft. A friend helped me install it and it works just fine. It's a fun game but I always lose :(

If anyone plays this, msg me!

I can't believe! Two people here who know Thief and the Thief series. I thought I was the only one who knew/liked these games. And they're certainly unique; amongst the most rare games I've ever played.

Not read the thread, but I'm mostly very happy with the emu scene in Linux (though there's always room for improvement). But the one game I'd love to be able to play on Ubuntu is my copy of GTA: Vice City. It's not too bad in WINE, but it could do with some sprucing to make it really worth installing WINE for me.

Games that u want to play in Ubuntu (windows games).

Command and conquer RA1, RA2, RA2 yuri's revenge, Kane's wrath.

Counterstrike Source

Age of empires 2

Age of Mythology

Farcry

Rise of Nations series

Empire Earth series

Half life 2

that's all the games I play, althoug i must admit I don't play HL2 and Farcry anymore, because I finished them years ago.

thinking about it, I'm rebooting into xp now for some counterstrike gungame action, moehaha.

I've currently got C&C3-Kanes Wrath, Raven Shield, WoW and Oblivion working without any major hitches.

Games I'd love to play (with or without Wine) would be:-

Assassins Creed
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Advanced Warfighter 2
Crysis
Age of Conan (when finally released).

Dr Small

Close Combat: First To Fight

... It would never work with wine :(

Halo 1&2 (yes, 2 is out for Vista)
Call of Duty 1-2-3-4
Half Life 1 and 2/Episodes 1-2-3

I guess Doom 3 works on Linux, so I will try that!

You have no idea how kickass that would be. :)

EDIT: Wow, it appears to run (and that was about 20 versions ago!).

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3785

EDIT2: Wow! So many Thief fans! Jesus, guys, even my MOM plays Thief! I remember playing Thief: Gold when I was incredibly young, and got scared of the zombies. :D

If any of you guys want to hit me up on AIM/MSN/YIM, that'd be great. I'd love to talk! :D

the call of duty games are playable, as are the half lifes i do believe. CoD 4 may give your pc a good workout though. i havent tried it myself. i think CoD 2 and HL2 are rated platinum on wine's appdb (meaning they work flawlessly out the box)

I remember trying it some months ago (maybe last year), but it didn't work (don't remember if it was with wine or with cedega/winex). I have to try it again when I have some time :)

I don't understand the wine app database. They will give programs gold ratings that wont even run run on it like oblivion which would be nice to play on Ubuntu

I wish I could get Civilizations 4 to work perfect under wine, the only real issue is the buildings are black... anyone know how to fix this?

NFS most wanted, definetly.

Virtually any good driving game, realistic or a car chase game with costumizable cars.

WoW, but I already do that, even on a 1.6 ghz machine with compiz.

I'd love to have shockwave and flash, that run JUST THE WAY THEY DO IN WINDOWS. But I think macromedia is to blame, cause it took a bribe from the company of which we dont speak (cause we dont laugh about sick people).

None, since even if the game is working ... it's running like crap.

Games need to be created for linux.
