Previously I have XP loaded in my System. I removed it using Ubuntu disk manager and tried loading Ubuntu 7.10. After booting from installation disc it starts Partition Manager and I have partitioned my HDD in following manner-
/ext3 mounted as "root".
/swap
/ext3 mounted as "/home"
At the time of loading suddenly an error message flashes on screen, "Unable to install Ubuntu. Clean your CD/DVD ROM Drive to install or check the installation CD or your HDD is faulty or move your system in a cooler place."
I am using an Ubuntu CD which was free shipped by Ubuntu Community. I am using 250 GB HDD and I am able to partition and format my HDD using XP (no bad sector detected). I couldn't understand what to do? I have tried more or less 10-12 times to load Ubuntu but failed. I am a newbie in Linux. Am I doing any mistakes? Please help?
