Hello everyone,
I have Ubuntu studio running on my computer at home, and I want to put OpenOffice.org on it, but I have to install all of the *.deb packages manualy. Because a lot of the dependencies are not satisfied, I have put a virtual machine onto my Hard drive with Ubuntu Studio installed. and I have to download the .deb's and keep looking for the right ones and keep downloading them onto the virtual machine and trying them to see if they work which is going straight through a windows system because where I am studying they do not use Linux.

I'm just wanting to know, is there any faster way to do this? because doing it all manualy takes a lot of time, and its probally not going to be worth it until I get the internet within the Ubuntu studio Machine.

If any one is able to help me, that would be great :)

Easiest way is to let Synaptics do the job for you instead of manually installing file dependencies. Or you could try downloading the entire ISO torrent (http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/) from another PC then install it on your UbuntuStudio.

Daf, if you have access to the internet through an Ubuntu VM, this link might be useful:

Yap, with the complete ISO image burned on a CD/DVD medium, you don't have to install any dependency files anymore.

Do the ISO torrent (http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/) download. This will give you a "neat" install.

To get the installation .deb with all the dependencies off-line, try nonetdebs (http://nonetdebs.unixpod.com/).
