I installed an update to 8.04 today. Everything went well and once i restarted i was given a very nice busy box. Ubuntu was working just fine before the update. How can i solve this, whthout messing around with windows vista which is installed on the same HDD or Ubuntu. Any Quick Fiz Avail?

Do you remember what the update was for? Try recovery mode and see if you can get in. If you have a previous kernel version in your grub list try booting into that also.

I added you on twitter, here's mine :) http://twitter.com/excid3

You're lucky, you got 8.04 working for a while.. mine 24-17 kernel took me straight to that busybox.

My old 22-14 kernel does boot fine though.

The same thing happened to me. I don't know which update it was. I just let it run the entire update progress.

Have you tried using 32 and 64 bit? I'm not sure but that might make a slight difference. its worth a shot.
