All went well with my upgrade from 7.10, however now my sound is horrible, almost sounds like I need to adjust an equilizer somewhere or something to that effect it sounds very rough. Sound worked great on 7.10 and still works great on my Vista boot, I'm running this on a HP Pavillion Laptop, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Create a new user and login. Does the sound still sound bad?

Exact same thin happened to me. The alsa mixer has defaulted to a ridiculously high level.

Heres your fix dude.

go to the command line and start up alsamixer (sudo alsamixer)
go to the PCM volume change it from 6xx to 100

Thanks to Suvir Kumar on launchpad for that.

Oh and forgot to mention that if you followed the above steps for pulse you will have to do the uninstall instructions or you will get an error tryng to launch the alsa mixer.
