I have a 160GB SATA hard disk with ubuntu 7.10 along with my windows xp as dual boot.

Today i bought another 160 GB sata hard disk and connected to my computer in parllel with my old hard disk.

i have the jumper for the old HD and removed the jumper for new one because i dont know whether the HD will act as master or slave when jumper is connected.

then i reinstalled my grub, bcos it displayed READ ERROR

i splitted partitions for the new hard disk using windows as i am not much experienced with partitioning in ubuntu....

It worked well in my windows.........

but when i boot into my ubuntu its just starting GRUB and then just i can see blank screen.....

when i disconnected my new HD my ubuntu is booting.

please any one help me
