Screensaver freeze

Using Unbuntu 8.0.4, tried screensaver "molecules". Black screen with "constructing molecules" came on, and window froze (pointer moves, but no response to clicks), therefore no way to change options. Have to manual restart Ubuntu. When screensaver comes on now, presents with same screen and no way to exit screensaver. Any ideas? Thanks

Apparently this is a known bug, and there is a work-around located at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xscreensaver/+bug/106060
for any of you having a similar problem. Still seeking a permanent solution.
