Hi, i have a dual boot between Ubuntu 8.4 and Windows xp pro sp3. Well Windows needed a reinstall earlier because i had a power out while installing sp3 :( and after i reinstalled i realized that GRUB was on the partion i had to remake. Is there a way to install GRUB without reinstalling Ubuntu also. And if there is not is there a way to keep all my settings just the way i like them? Thanks

There's a ton of information about GRUB in this page (http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p15.htm#1._Configfile). Maybe, you could find solutions on that page.

iaculallad gave you the write page but not the correct position on page. This link will take you right there you want to be:

Or you can just reinstall grub (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows?action=show&redirect=RestoreGrub)
