View Full Version : [ubuntu] cannot find bittorrent

hi,
i've installed bittorrent and bittorrent gui but i cannot find how to start the gui.:confused:
it is not listed under applications menu.

I assume you checked under all the submenus in applications? My guess is that it should be in the Internet category

yes i've checked all submenus and it's not there. my guess was also it should be under the internet submenu.

I think I had this problem when I first started using ubuntu - never bothered chasing it, as opening a .torrent will bring up the GUI.

I find that I prefer deluge now.

utorrent does actually list Wine as a supported "OS" to be installed on.

Personally I use either transmission or deluge, it depends how much control I want over the torrents

Transmission Bittorrent Client is the default torrent app in Ubuntu.

If you don't find it under "internet" sub-menu, then just install it via "add/remove.."... or just install utorrent has Shifty_powers said ;)

heh, yeah wine isn't an os, but still, it works perfectly in wine, and is still by far my faveourite torrent.

it's fast, lightweight and very efficient, yet ppowerful and has lots of configurations options, but is easy to use.

what more do you need ;)
