Holy Hell. $1300! What a deal, considering that sort of thing would usually run $2500 and up.

I'm looking for something to take to class (Comp Sci minor/MIS major), and to use as a DTR. I know it's big, and I know it's heavy, but I want power and I want portability. w00tage!

I'll be dual booting XP/Ubuntu so I can play SupCom and MAYBE Crysis. If I can get Steamapps and WoW to work on Hardy (No luck so far) then I will have to use XP a lot less.

BTW I'm getting this at Best Buy (I much prefer Fry's, but w/e) so if you have one near you check the ad in the Sunday paper.

I saw this just 10 minutes ago in the newspaper! Looks like a good deal, except that you have to buy it from BestBuy.

Am I mistaken, or is Gateway owned by Microsoft?

Let me check...

No they are owned by Acer, I believe. For the longest time, I thought M$ owned them. Oh, well.

Bought it. $1700 with tax a a 3yr accidental/battery warranty.

(Plays "Battery")

Anywho, I just realized I don't have internet at my house right now... might have to go to the coffee shop to get Ubuntu installed and updated, etc.

Apparently Gatway is part of Acer now. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_Computers
