Lets say I connect to the Internet using a Ethernet connection, or a PPP connection via dial-up or even cell phone. What would it take to configure my wireless adapter to operate as an Access Point for sharing that hard line Internet connection with another wireless device?

I want my laptop to BE a router. A wireless router.
Here's a diagram of exactly what I'm trying to do:
[3G cellphone internet connection]-(USB cable)--->[laptop (wireless adapter)]~~(wireless signal)~~~~>[Nintendo Wii Wireless connection]
Alternatively, I could spend 20 or 30 dollars on an Ethernet adapter for the Wii, and then connect a cross-over cable to it an my laptops Ethernet port and share my Internet connection that way. But why spend money when you can accomplish the same end goal via some modified software settings?
