[SOLVED] upgraded to 8.04, now only one speaker works

I have a 2.1 speaker setup but since upgrading to 8.04 I only get sound from my left speaker.

can anyone help?

unlinking and sliding vol on right speaker seems to have fixed it. had tried it earlier with no success so don't know what's changed.
