Hi folks,

during the distro upgrade to 8.04 from 7.10, the upgrade procedure hung right after displaying the following line:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-16-generic

To my great surprise (and even greater relief), rebooting the system showed no problem. However, I'm wondering:

Was this bug already reported? I've been googlin' for it, but couldn't find it.
Where can I find a log file to look into?
How do I manually perform the tasks that were skipped like, say, "Cleaning" -- i.e. removing unused files I guess?
Is there any way to roll the upgrade procedure over again?

For the records, I'm running an Acer Aspire 1511LMi (AMD 64).

Also, the wireless network adapter stopped working right in the middle of the procedure. Of course, re-installing the drivers through that lovely Ubuntu interface worked like a charm on the following reboot.

Thank you in advance
