Python upgrade/update issue

After upgrading to 8.04 several components crash every time new updates are available for them. Here a screenshot

It looks like my python language plug in is the problem, any ideas how to fix this?

Well since no one would help me I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling Python imaging using Synaptic, that worked.
