Is there anyway way to uninstall 8.04 and revert to 7.10.

It seems that after the upgrade I have major hardware problems. Simplest solution is to go back to 7.10 which was fine.

Can it be done without losing all my current programs??

You can do a clean install on top of 8.04. You'll have to install your programs again. You could use APtOnCD to save some:

A clean install is not what I want. There is supposed to be, according to Canonical, a way of rolling back?
