Dear friends,

The ratDVD container format is getting more populair lately. For people who don't know what it is: it's a program and file format for compressing a dvd to approx. 1gig and keep the dvd menu. Some people believe it is the new videocompression format of the future.
Now as this is a format which is(AFAIK) not supported under linux yet, should we fear this new format? What impression do other people have about the open factor of this new format in general?

I've tried it out, the quality is pretty lousy and I definitely wouldn't describe it as "the new videocompression format of the future".
