View Full Version : [ubuntu] 2Gb Ram -> 3Gb Ram = X serv crash ?

May 16th, 2008, 07:40 PM
Good day!
I upgraded my Asus FS3V notebook with additional 1Gb ram. After reboot i got a message that system have some problems with video, when i click OK about low res graph mode - system halted.
After rebooting i tried recovery mode and fix X server. It did not help - computer halting after boot when trying to start kdm.

I tested memory on 2nd OS on notebook, all work fine, no problems detected.
Help plz!

PS sorry for my English.

So, i restored xorg.conf from xorg.conf.failsafe with vesa driver in it, but X run only in 800x600
Boot comp in recovery mode, xfix -> crash again , looks like now nVidia drivers cause crash.
Why it all happened after upgrading RAM - mystery for me =/
