Can anyone advise the best way to install a very slim version of Ubuntu? I would like to install to a HP t5530 thin client box? using the 64mb flash drive to boot? is this possible? I only need a slim desktop (fluxbox Ice or similar?) Firefox and a pdf viewer? is this within the realms of reality?
How would I go about it?
Many thanks!

ubuntu, no, not on 64mb, if you can get bigger at least a gig, it could be do able
your other option would be DSL linux, you can do a frugal install which is exactly 50mb, so you won't have much room to play.

anything with gui you can expect the install to be around 512mb, there are special distros, like dsl, that have away of squeezing into a small space, but most aren't going to have a gui.
also do you know if that ram is upgradeable 120mb is skimp, linux is very memory intensive the more the better 512mb is the sweet spot 1gig is a cherry on top.
