Of course not, some users will inevitably view Ubuntu this way, as it is designed to be user friendly (especially for new users).

Looks like a Vista fanboy decided that he would demonstrate his ultimate knolege of Linux. Well, he demonstrated something.

On the topic of the bug addressed: If Windows had a bug like this, Microsoft would try to cover it up, and I would not get patched for a couple of months.

I gathered, but just in case ;)

And to Het Irv, have you ever read any of the other xkcd comics? You'll soon see he isn't a Windows user :)

No I hadn't. My Bad, I guess I might have to add a new comic to my rotation.

But the Microsoft comment still stands...

How do I write "xkcd"? There's nothing in Strunk and White about this.

For those of us pedantic enough to want a rule, here it is: The preferred form is "xkcd", all lower-case. In formal contexts where a lowercase word shouldn't start a sentence, "XKCD" is an okay alternative. "Xkcd" is frowned upon.

I'm pedantic, you should be too...

Yes, Ubuntu is clearly Vista. The bill will be arriving in the mail soon.

You should, I love them :) As do many others (I started a social group here on the forums for it too).

Duly noted, I'll edit my previous post ;)

xkcd is some good comic relief. Don't take offense, come on! All distros are equally hated on.

There is no truth to that comic so its not funny.

Who said something had to be true to be funny? Maybe the comic just caters to a different type of humor than the one you possess.

The Truth is rarely funny by definition.

The writer makes comments about Ubuntu on other occasions also. It is all a joke here. See the one about the wireless internet. http://xkcd.com/416/

xkcd is a brilliant comic. Sometimes you have to be a Unix user to understand the humor behind it. Don't talk trash about xkcd.

So how would that make people equate Ubuntu with Vista?

xkcd is great. I love the Rock Band one.

I imagine that the whole vista remake is based on the desktop effects... and with my expirences with Hardy the stabily sounds about the same.
