That would be me. I've been swimming in raw sewage again. I love it.

Edited to add: I'm in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.

By the way, anyone in Chicago notice that there are a lot of Linux users with wireless? Whenever I connect with the laptop, there's a couple dozen networks listed and half are named in some way to indicate the user is running Linux.

You guys got flooded in last night's storm? I am so sorry. The last big one we had..what was it..6 weeks ago...left me with 3 inches of sewage back up in my basement. I just finished replacing the drywall and baseboard.

We got lucky by buying a place that seems to be elevated slightly. No flooding at all. I have a friend a few blocks away whose recording studio was totally ruined, though.

When we bought this house in 97 I wanted a place with a garage and no basement. Because she loved the kitchen at this house...I somehow ended up with a house with a basement and no garage. And guess who gets to clean the basement when it floods???? Grrrr.

I am beginnign to think that American Water needs to rethink their infrastructure. Floods in this area are happening more often and with more damage.

Down state but I have to grasp on to the closest area since I know of no one else in central IL that uses Ubuntu or frequents the site.

Define central Illinois.

There are some in Cook county that actually think Peoria is southern illinois.

I know of some Ubuntu users by Urbana. If that is close to you, I can try to find thier info for you.
