This post may come as a shock to some as I do not normally frequent the Cafe ...

I head part of a talk by Adam Werbach (http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/adam_werbach/profile.html) speak at the The City Club of San Francisco (http://www.cityclubsf.com/)last night on NPR (National Public Radio) .

He spoke of the "Birth of the blue movement" and it may be something members of the Ubuntu Forums may be interested in. Happy reading.

I don't get it. Why not add optimism to the green movement? Yes, the greens have overemployed scare tactics... Blue adjusts the message, but green is 'in.' An adjustment to the message of the green movement will likely yield better results.

(Hear me, pessimistic greens? You know who you are.)

Cheers.

The Homo Sapiens is a greedy animal.
The mammalspecies with the largest population on earth is the Homo Sapiens:
7,000,000,000.

The problem is not the behavior of the Homo Sapiens but the Homo Sapiens itself.

That argument is flawed. There is no inherent problem anywhere in the world. Problem is a problem for someone or something (usually for some conscious beings). If we recognize the environment deterioration as a problem, it is because that is problematic for us.

Greed? If we were without the capacity to control greed to an extent, we would not have created sovereignty and laws to encourage justice. Saying that we as species is inherently problematic is only a way of putting aside our burden and ignoring the call to action.

I think this Blue Movement is rather unnecessary because not every Green Movement is about prioritizing the nature over our choice.
