maybe you should ask in the Fedora Forums, fedora 9 comes with 2.6.25 kernel

I've compiled 2.6.25 for my 7.10 kubuntu. Works very fine.

I had a bit of trouble with nvidia drivers (need to use the latest beta version (173?) or do a lot of patching). Also had a bit of trouble with vmware (need to patch with the latest any-any patch, but still one of the kernel modules didn't compile correctly for me - the one that handles drag-n-drop between the two OSes, but I don't care about it).

So after a little web searching and stuff, it works fine for me.

(I was also interested in the new addition of being able to ::select() timers, signals and events from file descriptors, myself being a programmer).

My wireless LED on my notebook worked again. It worked in Gutsy, doesn't work in Hardy, works in Fedora 9. I'm assuming it's the kernel. Annoying, to say the least.

I've been using the 2.6.25 kernel in Gentoo for a while now. I've been pleased with it. The b43 wireless driver actually works.

I am using 2.6.25 with hardy. I have not had any issues. I had to patch the 64-bit nvidia driver beforehand, but it was painless.

Will 8.04 be using the 2.6.25 kernel anytime soon, or is that to major of a change for an LTS release?
