Problem with text colors

I have a problem with my text colors.. sometimes i have a prob with white text in white backgrounds or black text on black buttons or backgrounds..
does anybody know how i can correct this cause I'm trying looking at the appearance color info but that isn't helping much i think... any advice?

Nobody can help me? is there anything i can edit directly within the theme files themselves or something that somebody could recommend?

I use to have the same problem and I would say that you should either get a new theme, or just keep trying to edit the colors. Who knows you might find a better look.

p.s. go to gnome look or where ever you got your theme and try to get hold of the author. are you the author of the skin?
