[SOLVED] Bash function not working

I am actually doing this on Fedora 9 but I am using Ubuntu right now. So I can't seem to get aliases or functions to work after I add them to my .bash_profile and save. I log out then log back in after coding and saving but nothing is happening. Any ideas?

No, do they have to be in both? Or just .bashrc?

The few times I've bothered with aliases I've used .bashrc and didn't have a problem.
