View Full Version : [other] can't connect to office wireless

I'm having an odd problem. For some reason, I can't connect to the wireless network at this office with Ubuntu. I have no problem doing so using Windows XP on the same computer (dual-boot), and Ubuntu hasn't had a problem connecting to any other wireless networks it's encountered so far.

The difference is that this one uses 64-bit WEP, whereas the others I've encountered use 124-bit WEP. That shouldn't be a big issue, right?

It can find the network, but when I attempt to connect, it simply tries and tries, and then is unable to.

The only solution I've seen on the forum so far is to use wicd: but wicd didn't do anything for me. In fact, it wouldn't even let me input the WEP key.

I've also tried doing it manually from the terminal, and it seems to do the same thing: sends and sends, but the router never responds. You'd think that'd sound like a router issue, right? But again, it works with XP...

Anyone have a solution for this problem?
